Fat Daddy's Open Mic Night!

Fat Daddy's hosts open mic night the first Tuesday of every month!! If you're interested in performing at open mic, please email bethany@FatDaddysComedy.com to sign up. We only have room for 12 performers for each open mic.

Open Mic nights will be held the following evenings at 7:30pm:

• Tuesday, December 6, 2011
• Tuesday, January 3, 2012
• Tuesday, February 7, 2012
• Tuesday, March 6, 2012
• Tuesday, April 3, 2012
• Open mic winners from Dec-April shows are invited to perform at the Best of Sioux Falls Comedy Showcase on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

The Best of Sioux Falls May 2012 Comedy Showcase will be held Tuesday, May 1 at 7:30pm. We pick 2 winners from each open mic performance (Dec-April) and those winners advance to the showcase in May. The top 3 winners from the May showcase will get a chance to host shows at Fat Daddy's!

If you think you've got talent and have the guts to prove it, come out and give our open mic a shot! Everybody (21 and older) is welcome!

Regular open mics allow 3-5 minutes per performer and any other rules or suggestions on content apply to these open mics as well.

Rules for The Best of Sioux Falls May 2012 Comedy Showcase:

• You must arrive no later than 7:15 if you are performing. If you arrive after 7:15 we will not get you stage time.
• We will allow each person a maximum 10 minutes on stage. Each contestant will receive a 2 minute light to get off stage. It is important to follow the time allowance because we will have just enough time to get all performers on stage. If you go over your time we will turn your mic off and you will not be able to finish your set.
• Content is extremely important - keep it clean. You must be able to perform for people ages 21+ so think about who your audiences may be while you write your material. Also, jokes that are offensive in nature will not win you an emcee position. Your friends may think they are funny but most normal people like funny things, not offensive language or content.
• If you are on stage and use an excessive amount of foul language you will be removed from the stage.
• Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners at the end of the night.
• While we appreciate audience support, for the finale, audience participation will be weighted (30%) and staff judging will be weighted (70%). We will announce the winners at the end of the show.
